About Me

Hello! I am Amitabh Ranjan

Having recently completed 24 weeks of full stack web development bootcamp at Georgia tech in mid-February 2022, I feel fortunate enough to have finally discovered my professional calling in the field of software engineering. Though I have had brief stints in fields ranging from investment banking to food industry, I believe I always felt short of realizing my true potential. Though not really intending to be a jack of all trades, with a Masters in Business Administration, my 2.5+ years of promising pursuit as an Analyst in Reference Data Client Process with Eclerx Services Ltd, Pune (India) under capital market vertical for investment banking client Credit-Suisse was abruptly cut short by unfortunate personal circumstances beyond my control and since then I have fulfilled varied profiles like supervising my family business, working as an inventory manager in a liquor store, working as a cashier/manager in a gas station and the latest being an Admin Associate for a company dealing in custom food blend. Though each professional role was as interesting as the one that followed next, there was something amiss which I could not fathom but it revealed upon me when I started coding and accomplished projects in the bootcamp! Least expecting that the traits I had been honing throughout my various work profiles would come in so handy one day. To be honest, I had already anticipated this when during the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to upgrade my professional skills by embarking on a sojourn that first saw me passing the ASTQB foundation level exam in June 2020 and then the ASTQB Agile test- all on a self-learned basis. But the quench had just started to unfold and so I started to learn programming/coding on my own but then realized that I needed to streamline my self-learning and the 24 weeks bootcamp at Georgia tech provided me just that and much more. Though the bootcamp was extremely challenging for a beginner like me, each assignment and project only fueled my penchant to immerse in the coding field and now I value my innate skill of being meticulous even more. In short, seeking new horizons, awaiting new heralds to be ushered in the field of Software Engineering with many new professional opportunities.
